Binghamton Intermodal Transit Terminal:
Conversion/Restoration of a 1930’s Art Deco Bus Station in Binghamton New York. The abandoned Greyhound terminal from the 1930’s is being converted to an intermodal transit terminal for the region. The exterior façade will be salvaged and restored to 1930’s condition along with the art deco neon sign. The original diner is to be recreated with period fixtures and finishes including the ticket window. The waiting areas at the rear of the new terminal are to be all glass, thus creating a transparent addition that will not detract from the classic art deco lines of the original building. A 29,000 sf canopy is being added at the rear of the building to provide cover for loading and unloading of passengers. Terminal enclosed square footage is approximately 18,700 square feet.
